We
started this blog in 2009 as a way of sharing our experiences with
friends and family, and with anyone else who might be interested. Here
are links to all of the reports we've posted since we started.
Dear Mr. Murray, I just finished reading Chicago & North Western Railway and congratulate you for a thorough writing about this awesome railroad. I’ve been a fan of the C&NW for 75 years! I would like more information on the “freight” paint scheme of C&NW FT’s 7’s and 9,s. Little has been written about this attractive paint scheme. I’m seeking color photos of this paint scheme so I can accurately model these engines in H. O. Any help you could give me will be greatly appreciated. Steve Snook
We live in California's Sonoma Valley, about an hour north of San Francisco. We have been in California since 1990, and until 2007 we lived near San Francisco. That year, we moved to Santa Maria, on the Central Coast of California, after Marcia retired from teaching hearing-impaired and severely-handicapped preschoolers. Tom had worked in the railroad industry since 1970, and in 1997 began freelancing as a writer and consultant (his web site is tmrail.com). After moving to Santa Maria we devoted as much time as possible to travel. In 2014 we relocated to Sonoma County.
This blog is a vehicle for us to share our experiences with friends, new and old.
